New Horizons Ranch and Center, Inc. is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation, demonstrating our commitment to high-performance standards and best practices for child welfare and behavioral health.
New Horizons Ranch & Center, Inc. DBA New Horizons has achieved national accreditation through the Council on Accreditation (COA). New Horizons provides the following services: Residential Treatment Centers for children at Audrey Grace House and The Ranch, Foster Care and Adoption Services, and Youth and Family Counseling.
New Horizons pursued accreditation to demonstrate the implementation of national best practice standards in the field of human services. COA evaluated all aspects of New Horizons’ programs, services, management, and administration. The COA accreditation process involves a detailed review and analysis of an organization’s administration, management, and service delivery functions against international best practice standards.
The standards driving accreditation ensure that services are well-coordinated, culturally competent, evidence-based, outcomes-oriented, and provided by a skilled and supported workforce. COA accreditation is an objective, independent, and reliable validation of an agency’s performance.
COA accreditation demonstrates accountability in the management of resources, sets standardized best practice thresholds for service and administration, and increases organizational capacity and accountability by creating a framework for ongoing quality improvement.
To achieve COA accreditation, New Horizons worked through a 2-year process to provide evidence of compliance with the COA standards. Afterward, a group of specially trained volunteer Peer Reviewers confirmed adherence to these standards through a series of on-site interviews with trustees, staff, and clients. Based on their findings, COA’s Accreditation Commission voted that New Horizons had successfully met the criteria for accreditation.
COA is an independent, nonprofit organization that partners with human service organizations worldwide to improve service delivery outcomes by developing, applying, and promoting appropriate best practice standards. COA is an approved accreditor of Qualified Residential Treatment Programs (QRTPs) under the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA).
