New Horizons receives $20,000 food grant from Community Foundation of Abilene

New Horizons received $20,000 to help feed children living at its Audrey Grace House home. The money was given as a grant from the Community Foundation of Abilene, a local foundation partnerning with community nonprofits. The grant will provide over 13,000 meals to children living at the home.

Audrey Grace House is a residential treatment center home for children, ages 5 to 17, who have been removed from their home due to abuse or neglect. They live at the home for 9 to 12 months and receive one-on-one counseling to help them overcome their traumatic experiences.

Toro Donates New Mower to Audrey Grace House

The Toro Company recently donated a brand new zero-turn radius mower to the Audrey Grace House. New Horizons applied for a grant and The Toro Company surprised them by delivering it straight to the Audrey Grace House! They have 10 acres to maintain and this mower will be a big help in keeping the grounds maintained.

The Audrey Grace House is a residential treatment center in Abilene with 20 kids who receive treatment for emotional trauma, many times due to abuse and neglect.

New Horizons recently received a $5,000 grant for the continued specialized treatment of children at the Audrey Grace House in Abilene. The grant was given by the Community Foundation of Abilene and the Bob and Peggy Beckham Family Donor Advised Fund. The funds will provide specialized treatment for children who are suffering from emotional, behavioral and attachment issues due to traumatic experiences in their lives. They will also provide care for basic living needs, such as food, clothing and shelter, and will cover special needs such as travel expenses for family visits.

New Horizons Opens Foster Care and Adoption Office in San Angelo

September marked the opening of New Horizons' newest foster care and adoption office in San Angelo, Texas. Located on Knickerbocker Road, the San Angelo office will provide therapeutic foster homes for children in Tom Green and surrounding counties. Foster care is an essential service for children and parents who must live apart due to abuse or neglect while maintaining legal and, usually, affectional ties.
