Kids drawing contest

We had a group of kids compete in a drawing contest at New Horizons. The theme of the contest was "What New Horizons Means to Me".

The kids really put their heart into the drawings. Many of the drawings communicated the feeling of peace while at New Horizons, enjoying the fun things like fishing and playing basketball, and how much they love their staff members who take care of them.

Helping Kara, a New Horizons Kid

Kara lived at New Horizons for 1 year. Due to family issues, she and her brothers all found a home at New Horizons Ranch in Goldthwaite. Kara finished our program in January 2013 and moved to Austin where she was enrolled in an Independent Living Program and finished her senior year.

Kara had dreams and goals, but needed some help to accomplish them.
